ConnectedCities is inspired by Ebenezer Howard's idea of a group of Garden Cities connected by electric railways to form a Social City. The vision is for compact, walkable developments around existing and new railway stations. Groups of settlements - some existing, some new - are linked by existing railways and cluster about a 'hub town'. Together they form a ConnectedCity.
In a ConnectedCity development only occurs within 1km of a rail station, but in a broad range of circumstances:
a Town Growth Zone within an existing town
a New Green Quarter on the edge of an existing town
All growth is coordinated jointly by the towns of the ConnectedCity.
