Transport for Wales have proposals for five new railway stations between Cardiff Central and Severn Tunnel Junction
Some of these could be part of a Greater Newport ConnectedCity
The new rail services will be stopping trains to enable local travel, and will be in addition to the existing fast trains
active travel and public transport
Transport for Wales aims to ensure rail travel becomes the mode of choice; supporting sustainable travel and encouraging use of walking, cycling and public transport facilities
All stations will have community hubs, cycle cycle parking facilities and links with existing and future bus routes
Cardiff East (Newport Road) - a Walkway station with no parkingÂ
Newport West - 250 parking spaces but no 'cutting through' allowed
Somerton (Newport East) - 50 parking spaces
Llanwern - 250+ parking spaces
Magor and Undy - a Walkway station with limited parking
